Why the name Default mode?

The name comes from the brain’s Default Mode Network (DMN), the system that activates when the mind slips into memory, imagination, ego, and inner dialogue. It is a busy place, one we drift into without noticing, and when it becomes overactive it can pull us into loops that keep us stuck in old stories.
Meditation and somatic practices shift this network. They decrease its activity and open the brain’s pathways for presence, sensory awareness, and emotional clarity. As the DMN quiets, the mind clears and the body becomes easier to feel. This is what gives us access to the intuitive and psychic senses that help us move through different layers of consciousness.
Default Mode carries this name because this project is rooted in the mind and the brain. It sits where psychology, neuroscience, somatics, and consciousness meet. It is a reminder that our patterns are not permanent. They reshape with intention, insight, repetition, and awareness. Every change begins in the mind before it becomes emotional, physical, or energetic.
The Default Mode Network rests between the inner world and the way we express ourselves into the outer one. The work of Default Mode expands this understanding and sees consciousness as something that moves through the body, through intuition, through nature, and through the subtle intelligence shared by all living systems. Each form becomes a different expression of the same awareness.
